Kitchen furniture design: Countertops

Different types of kitchen furniture are important in order to achieve a comfortable, nice and functional environment. Countertops must be resistant, functional and aesthetic, and for that reason they are made with granite, marble and, currently, steel, crystal, wood and silistone.
Their design vary accoding to the material.
Countertops made with stainless steel are very hygienic, and for that reason they are used in restaurant's kitchens. Their disadvantage is that any stain or spatter is very notorious since they have an uniform color. They are made with a conglomerate table covered with a 2mm stainless steel sheet.
Besides, there are countertops made with oak lath, which are easy to combine with the decoration, and they are generally used in rustic kitchens.
Oak countertops are made with a mixture of resins and minerals, highly resistant and at a low cost.
The last ones are more traditional, highly resistant and expensive, but aesthetically they are the most beautiful.

Kitchen design: Cupboards

Cupboards are kitchen and dining-room furniture and are generally made up of two parts: an inferior part with doors and drawers; and a superior part with different combinations of shelves. Formerly, the families with great purchasing power used them to display all their money, but since the 18th century cupboards were placed in the kitchen. As time went by, kitchens became smaller and cupboards also changed since they were composed by only one part over the countertop up to the ceiling. There are different shapes of cupboards: closed, with shelves, with drawers, with glass, with chicken coop material, etc.
